Entry Instructions
1. The contest is open for registration internationally. Please ensure that the entries must be original. Content includes politics, vulgarity, racist, pornography, etc. are strictly prohibited, and relevant laws and regulations must not be violated. No plagiarism. It is strictly forbidden to plagiarize or steal other people's works. The copyright should not be transferred or used by commercial during the competition.
2. The event is divided into two groups, "Professional Group" and "Student Group". Please make sure your registration matches your property.(View Student Group Definition)
3. The contest is divided into two types: 2D & 3D. In the Professional Group, these two types are subdivided into the following sub-categories: 2D Character Design, 2D Environment Design, 2D Illustration, 3D Character, and 3D Environment Art. Student Group does not have subcategories.
4. Each participant can enter multiple types (or categories) of the contest, but can only upload one entry for each category. The result of the selection is based on the work, that is, the same participant can obtain multiple types (or Category) of awards.
5. The logo of the competition must be includedclick here to download),This element can be clearly presented in some places in the work in any way, such as clothing, architectural style, magic effects, etc.
6. In order to ensure the fairness of the competition, after the shortlists are selected, GGAC will review the participants’ personal information and the source files of their works to ensure the originality. Participants are required to provide the source files of the work properly.
7. The final submission time of this contest is 23:59 on October 7, 2019.

Initial Audition
From June to October, the Advanced list will be published before 12 noon on the 15th of each month. Each advanced will rank among the top 40% of the Audition works.
Judge’s Review
The judges and expert groups can advance the entry with only 1 vote, but this does not affect the Heat Value.
In October, the shortlists will be selected from the advanced pieces. No proportion is set for the shortlist when the quality of the art pieces is the basic standard.
In November, the judges will select and nominate the candidates for the final round from the shortlists.

Whether the model has recreated the concept by properly utilizing the shape, the pose, and the structure.

Copyright Statement
1. 'Outstanding Award', 'People's Choice Award', 'Gold Award', 'Silver Award', 'Bronze Award', 'Exellence Award' - The full copyright of these types awarded artwork will be transferred to the organizer (or its designated company). The author will be required to sign the Copyright Transfer Agreement. The organizer has the right to redesign, produce, sell, display, and publish the corresponding design. The author may not authorize this right to any other individual or organization. The author permanently retains the right of authorship.
2. "Shortlist Award" - The copyright of this type of artwork is owned by the original author, but the organizer has the right to use it.
3.The copyright of the unselected artwork remains with the original author. The organizer has the right to display, report, publicize and market for all entries. The author reserves the right of authorship. If the organizer needs to develop, produce, sell or other commercial use of the work, the organizer must obtain written permission from the author and pay the corresponding fee.
4. The cash prizes are shown as pre-tax amounts, which will be withheld by the organizer for personal income tax. If the organizer needs to further improve, develop, or design the awarded work for the peripheral products, the authors need to cooperate.
5. The organizer reserves the right of final interpretation of this event.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I enter multiple catagories?
A:Yes, you can enter one or more categories. In this case, we would like to see you create a sequel based on a certain category of work.
Q: Can I make multiple submissions?
A: No, you can only make one submission under one category. You can submit multiple designs during your ideation phase, but only one final piece will be used for the evaluation. However, you can enter multiple categories, and we would like to see you create a sequel based on a certain category of work.
Q:Can we enter as a team?
A: No, currently, we only accept individual entry. If we plan for the team entry in the future, it will be announced separately.
Q: Can the design base on the existing IP?
A: Yes, but we don't encourage.
1) GGAC respects and strictly abides intellectual property laws and regulations. If you use existing IP to create your work, you must obtain the authorization and not infringe on the intellectual property rights of others.
2) GGAC has always been a vision to promote the exchange and development of Chinese and world game art industry and hope to work with game artists around the world to create top-level events that will bring vitality to the industry. We want to see the original works of the artists themselves.
3) GGAC Expert Team and Judges agree that the originality is one of the most important selection criteria.
Q: In Audition & Advance phase, what are the factors that decides the Heat Value?
A: The Heat Value is decided comprehensively by the value of time, reviews, comments, thumbsups, and votes. The "time" is the only negative correlation with the Heat Value when the other factors are positive correlations(the earlier it posted, the lower the Heat Value will be).
Q: In Audition & Advance phase, if multiple art pieces have the same amount of the Heat Value, how to decide their advancement?
A: In this case, all of them can be advanced.
Q: In Audition & Advance phase, does the "1 vote advancing" from the expert team and Judges affects the number of advancement from Heat Value?
A: The judges and expert groups can advance the entry with just 1 vote, but this does not affect the Heat Value. That says, there will be over 40% of the entries will be advanced to the next phase.
Q: In Audition & Advance phase, if the entry doesn't advance in the current advancing round, can it enter the next round of Audition & Advance?
A: Yes, its current Heat Value will be retained and continue join to the next round of Audition & Advance phase.
Q: If it is reported and verified that some works have unfairness issues (including but not limited to: plagiarism, unauthorized creation, non-authorization of this contest, violation of relevant laws and regulations), can there be works that can be replenished?
A: If the entries were removed from the contest because of the vialation of GGAC rules or decided by the Judges during the Finalist phase or Nomiation phase, the follow-up works will be added in order to make up the number of rewards. No other works will be replenished in the rest of the phases.
